I have been a registered psychologist for eight years and in recent years I have been working in the area of neurodiversity including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults. I support clients to navigate these areas, particularly those who have been diagnosed later in life.
My career started by working in the Employment Services field, where I helped clients to address mental health challenges that were barriers to employment, including anxiety and depression.
I have also spent time working in a fertility clinic, where I assisted clients to address a wide variety of fertility related challenges including stress management, relationship difficulties as well as grief and loss.
As well as my private practice here in Moorabbin, I currently work within the public system in Community Health in inner city Melbourne. Working in the public system has meant that I have developed my skills in working with a wide variety of client presentations, and have current knowledge of frameworks and accepted approaches in areas such as Family Violence. Qualifications
I have completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Swinburne University, Melbourne and a Master of Counselling Psychology at La Trobe University, Melbourne. I have also undertaken Professional Development training in the areas of trauma, substance use and Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as in the area of neurodiversity including ADHD and Autism in adults. After completing a two year registrar program I am endorsed as a Counselling Psychologist. Counselling Psychology emphasises the importance of considering factors that contribute to mental health including the influence of culture and family on the individual, recognising the importance of attending to relationship dynamics, tailoring therapeutic interventions to the individual, and developing the therapeutic relationship with the client.
I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society as well as the Fertility Society of Australia. I am also a Psychology Board approved supervisor meaning that I provide supervision to other psychologists and psychologists in training which allows me to contribute to the future of the field of psychology.
